About the request and art trade stuff.....

Tue Dec 15, 2009, 12:01 PM
Just so you guys know, requests and art trades are closed until further notice. Got some more real life stuff to focus on right now (which I'm not going into detail on, sorry). As for the existing art trade and request I have to do, I'll try to get it done as soon as I can when I'm up to it.

P.S. Dang it, stupid mood smiley options won't load. Just so you know, "Not Lonely", in spite of the icon.

So, how about that New Super Mario Bros. Wii?

I'm still here, just haven't posted much stuff lately besides request and art trade stuff. Also, real life stuff I'd rather not get into and all.

I picked up New Super Mario Bros. Wii recently, and I love its level designs. In one level you can find yourself navigating a dark area with scarce sources of light unless you get a fire flower, and in another you can find yourself platforming across giant manta rays with clouds that poof away when you touch them obscuring hidden items.

There's also some excellent powerups. The Ice Flower's iceballs have a different trajectory than the Fire Flower's but freeze foes into cubes to use for platforming or throwing, the Penguin Suit takes over NSMB's Blue Shell's purpose while being less suicidal and adding in lesser Ice Flower power, the Propeller Hat is a more limited but still very effective flying tool.

Even the bosses (consisting of the finally-returning Koopalings) mix things up so it isn't just a matter of "nuke 'em with fireballs". All in all, I'm enjoying this game a lot more than its DS prequel, although I gotta give New Super Mario Bros. props for bringing in this new 2D platforming boom and allowing for a sequel on Wii.

Request and Art Trade Guidelines
1) Don't ask for anything against dA's Terms of Service.
2) Please limit character count to two, maybe three at most.
3) I'm not good with backgrounds, so I'll only do them on a whim or if they're simple.
4) I specialize in Happy Tree Friends and Mario stuff, but I can do other stuff as well.

Still not dead!

Thu Sep 24, 2009, 12:56 PM
Been about a month since I put up any new pics (remedied that a while ago), and even longer since I did a new journal entry, but I'm still here, and still drawing. I just usually don't have much I want to ink, color, and post. =P

If anyone wants any art trades, they're still open like always. Three slots available. I tend to get these done faster than my normal art, anyway. It's always fun drawing someone else's character (or characters). Hell, I'll even take a couple of requests.

Pulseman's on Virtual Console!

Thu Jul 16, 2009, 4:40 PM
For those who don't know, Pulseman was a 1994 action/platformer title by Game Freak (the Pokémon guys, two years prior to Pokémon's Japanese release), released for the Mega Drive on cartridge in Japan, and only on SEGA Channel in the States. It's a game where you play as an electric superhero who's half human and half C-Life (some A.I. program thing), which gives him access to abilities like electrical slashes, firing flash arrows, and turning himself into an electric pinball. His goal? To stop Dr. Waruyama, the corrupted scientist who is the leader of the Galaxy Gang.

Anyway, the game's on Virtual Console now at 900 Points ($9.00). I highly recommend downloading a copy, if you haven't already. It has great visual style (by Genesis standards), superb gameplay mechanics, and laughably bad English voice acting. There's some Japanese text, like the level descriptions and backstory that plays when you leave the game at the title screen, but most of the stuff that matters is already in English.

Birthday on 5/12 and MIA for 5/14-17!

Thu May 7, 2009, 8:39 AM
Tuesday of next week is my birthday, the day where I feel like more of an old geez than usual. Apologies for not submitting stuff for a while; I've been practicing on my drawing a fair bit (like how my last three pics turned out for the most part) but mainly spending my free time helping a fat, mustachioed fellow save the most kidnapped princess in the world across numerous games.

On another subject, will likely be offline for the 14th through the 17th. Heading back to Georgia for a few days to visit the relatives. I might go online a bit when I go back up there, but probably not for dA stuff.
